Outpost runs turnkey company retreats for remote teams of 5–50across Bali (Ubud) and Weligama, Sri Lanka. The difference from most options you’ll compare: we own and operate the coliving and coworking spaces your team uses. We’re not an agency booking you a villa and renting a projector — the WiFi, the meeting rooms, the community, and the on-the-ground team are ours.
Since 2016 — over 10 years of operations — Outpost has hosted 75+ group retreats and workation cohorts across Ubud and Weligama. Teams including Zar, Mentimeter, Unsettled, Hacker Paradise, Noma Collective, WiFi Tribe have used Outpost as their retreat base.
We also host nomad community programs and workation cohorts — for organizers who want to hand the logistics to an operator and focus on running their program.
What "turnkey" actually covers
- Accommodation — private rooms configured to your team size.
- Coworking + meeting rooms — our own coworking with work-grade WiFi, video-call booths, breakout space, meeting rooms, and a projector/screen for all-hands.
- Activity programming — surf, yoga, cooking classes, workshops, host a speaker, temple visits, day trips — chosen to match the team.
- Food — meals and dietary requirements (vegan, vegetarian, halal, gluten-free) handled in advance.
- On-the-ground coordinator— one Outpost contact for the whole week, so your Head of People isn’t running logistics.
- Airport transfers — airport pickup and drops, SIM cards — we take care of the hassle so you can focus on your people.
Balancing focused work and team building in one week
The most common question teams ask is how to get real work done and still come back closer as a team. The shape that works: deep-work mornings in the coworking space, activities or culture in the afternoons, team time in the evenings. Owner-operated infrastructure is what makes the work half actually work — soundproofed call booths for back-to-back sessions, air-conditioned focus rooms, and WiFi tested for twenty-plus people on video at once. A villa with a pretty view and hotel WiFi falls apart by the second standup.

Most of our retreat teams are distributed software and product companies running a planning offsite, a product sprint, or an annual all-hands. Capacity runs from a 6-person founding team to a 50-person org. Because the workspace is purpose-built rather than improvised, hybrid sessions with remote colleagues, recorded workshops, and multi-room breakouts all work without a scramble.

From around 5 to 50 people. The 20–30 range is our most common retreat size, with private rooms and dedicated coworking.
Can we run a product sprint and team building in the same week?
Yes — that's the most common shape. Mornings in coworking for focused work, afternoons for activities, evenings as team time. We design the rhythm around how your team works.
How is this different from a retreat agency?
An agency books a third-party venue and coordinates around it. Outpost owns and runs the space, so the WiFi, meeting rooms, community, and support team are ours and accountable to you for the whole week.
Do you host nomad community programs and workation cohorts?
Yes — in addition to single-company retreats, we host nomad community programs and workation cohorts in both Ubud and Weligama. The model is the same: accommodation, dedicated workspace, programming support, and a coordinator, so the organiser runs the program while Outpost runs the place.
